West Tennessee and Little Rock Storm Response Update from Comcast – April 13, 2023

Comcast has restored Xfinity services to the vast majority of our customers impacted by the recent storms in Little Rock and West Tennessee.

While our teams have made great progress, we are aware of remaining service interruptions, and these are mainly due to commercial power outages and/or restricted access to facilities due to hazardous conditions and closures.

For most customers, services should be restored after power is restored and access to damaged facilities and downed lines have been cleared. It’s important to note that even though power might have been restored to an individual’s home, there are instances where power has not yet been fully restored to the local Comcast distribution point that serves the neighborhood. Once cleared and access is gained, Comcast will continue to work until services are fully restored for every customer.

If power has been restored to your home and you are still experiencing service interruptions, you may need to reset your modem or router.

  • Unplug your equipment from its power source.
  • Wait 30 seconds.
  • Plug your equipment back into the power source.

Storm Recovery Update – April 5, 2023

Our progress toward restoring Xfinity services to customers across Little Rock, Arkansas, West Tennessee and other impacted areas continues. We have brought in additional employees, contractors and resources from other Comcast markets to make this a top priority, particularly around neighborhoods where our network was impacted. As power companies bring power back, Comcast is working with them to repair our Xfinity services as well.

We’ve opened our WiFi hotspots and have WiFi hotspot vans in Little Rock and Covington for anyone who needs them.

Storm Update – April 1. 2023: 

Yesterday, deadly tornadoes swept through Little Rock and Memphis, causing extensive property damage and displacing hundreds of residents. Comcast has crews on site in both markets, assessing the impact to our network.  Currently, most of Comcast’s service interruptions are due to commercial power outages. For most of our customers, services should return after power is restored, and our access to damaged facilities and downed lines has been cleared.

We are also focused on restoration as part of the process. For example, we are bringing in several dozen generators to both markets to get customers back online.  We are also relocating several employees and contractors from other markets to assist in the recovery efforts.

Customer Tips

If customers have electricity but Xfinity services have not yet come back on, Comcast recommends that customers restart or reset devices, including wireless gateways, modems, routers and cable boxes. Customers should always stay clear of downed power and cable lines in the interest of safety.

The most effective way to get outage updates and information about Comcast services is to visit Xfinity.com/MyAccount or access the Xfinity My Account app from any secure, internet-enabled mobile device.
