Atlanta Day Shelter Receives $2,000 Donation
Comcast gives back to the community by providing access to innovative technology and financial and in-kind support, benefiting a variety of leading national and local non-profit organizations.
Many Comcasters, like Brandee Salter of Peachtree City, Ga., volunteer their time to support organizations that have special meaning to them. In appreciation, Comcast supports employees’ community efforts through the iVolunteer program.
Twice a year, employees are asked to submit a nomination explaining what inspires them to volunteer for their organization. Based on the submissions received, one Comcaster from the ‘Big South’ region is selected to receive financial support for their non-profit organization in the amount of $1,000.
Brandee nominated the Atlanta Day Shelter for Women and Children for their efforts in striving to restore hope and self-esteem for their clients by providing the tools they need to overcome homelessness. The Atlanta Day Shelter helps 140 women and children per day.
Brandee was presented with a check for $1,000 for the shelter during her team meeting in Peachtree City. As a special surprise, it was announced that the Big South’s Women’s Employee Resource Group matched the donation for a total amount of $2,000.
