Inspiredu Second Annual Town Hall in Partnership With Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs

Inspiredu recently held its Second annual town hall symposium focused on empowering small business and entrepreneurs at Comcast’s Central Division and Big South Region headquarters at The Battery in Atlanta, Ga. The town hall was sponsored by Comcast and brought together many of its community partners including the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs (RICE), Urban League of Greater Atlanta, Latin American Association, Village Micro Fund and Prospera.  The town hall was highlighted by a fireside chat with Richard Hicks, CEO of Inspiredu and Monica D. Hooks, Chief Experience Officer at RICE, and was moderated by VP of Comcast Business, Michelle Pluskota. Comcast RISE was one of the focal points of the town hall and highlighted past RISE grantees and the opportunity to apply for a RISE grant through May 31st.

The fireside chat focused on how Comcast, RICE and Inspiredu are strengthening their collaboration with community and elected officials to bridge the digital and technology divide among Atlanta’s small business community. Each organization emphasized their commitment to investing in small businesses. Richard Hicks highlighted Inspiredu’s role in enhancing digital literacy by training youth in essential technology-based skills for educational and career success. Monica D. Hooks discussed how RICE supports small businesses by enhancing their digital skills and adapting to evolving technological trends.

The event also featured a marketplace, where small businesses and entrepreneurs set up booths to provide more information to the attendees about their services. Marketplace participants included Fido Fido Dog Daycare and Boarding, Small Business Administration (SBA), The Hardy Clinic, Invest Atlanta and the Belk Stores Foundation.
