Comcast and Girls Inc. Host Fourth Annual Brunch with Santa Event
Surprises 100 Students with New Laptops as Part of Digital Equity Initiative
Comcast, in partnership with Girls Inc., hosted its 4th Annual Brunch with Santa event at Columbia High School over the holidays. This festive event, open to the public, brought joy and cheer to the local community while underscoring Comcast’s ongoing commitment to digital equity.
Now in its fourth year, the event featured a delicious brunch, photos with Santa, and a clothing drive to support local families. The highlight of the day was when Melinda Little, Region Vice President of Government Affairs at Comcast, announced that Comcast would be donating 100 laptops to students and families. This generous donation aims to support education and enhance digital skills, showcasing Comcast’s dedication to bridging the digital divide through digital literacy education and programs.
“Brunch with Santa is a wonderful example of how we can bring joy to our community while also addressing important issues like digital equity,” said Lisa Walker-Holloway, Senior Manager of External Affairs. “We’re proud to partner with Girls Inc. and other local organizations to make a positive impact.”
Girls Inc. of Greater Atlanta, a leading girls leadership organization, equips girls to reach their full potential. Comcast has been a steadfast supporter of Girls Inc. since 2020 as part of its Lift Zones initiative. Girls Inc. is one of a total of 55 Lift Zones across the South Region, providing safe spaces for students and families to access the internet for school and work, helping to bridge the digital divide. Earlier this year, Comcast awarded Girls Inc. a $30,000 foundation grant to further their initiatives.
The laptop donation is part of Project UP, Comcast’s $1 billion commitment to help advance digital equity and economic mobility in Atlanta and communities across the country.
