Comcast announced today that Joann Gonzalez has been named Regional Vice President of Human Resources for the company’s South Region. She will be based in Atlanta, Ga. and report to Mike McArdle, Regional Senior Vice President for Comcast. In her new role, she will oversee all human resources activities for the region.
Gonzalez has more than 25 years of human resources experience, with more than 18 years at Comcast. Most recently, she served as VP of Human Resources at the company’s national headquarters supporting Customer Care. Previously, she worked in Comcast’s Central and West Divisions, serving in a variety of leadership roles.
“Joann brings impressive credentials to the South Region including vast industry knowledge, a unique skillset and culture-focused leadership,” said McArdle. “I look forward to the immediate impact she is sure to make by leading our essential human resources team.”
Joann earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Kean University and her Master of Business Administration degree from Union University. She is a member of Women in Cable Telecommunications’ Southeast Chapter and is a two-time recipient of their “Red Letter Award” which recognizes outstanding achievement and leadership. Additionally, she has served as a mentor for the South Region’s Black Employee Network.
Outside of work, Joann and her husband, Wil, enjoy traveling and spending time outdoors with their three dogs.
