Comcast Names Julia Ayers Vice President of State Government Affairs for Georgia, South Carolina at Company’s Central Division Headquarters
Comcast announced that Julia Ayers has joined the Central Division Government Affairs team as Vice President of State Government Affairs for Georgia and South Carolina. In her role, Julia will advance Comcast’s legislative efforts, expand partnerships with elected leaders and government officials and enhance advocacy efforts to support the business.
“Julia is a seasoned, senior-level government affairs professional that has served on the front lines of shaping legislative efforts across the Southeast,” said Michael Mitchell, Comcast Central Division Senior Vice President of Government Affairs. “Her experience partnering with elected leaders and stakeholders will aid how Comcast best serves our employees and customers.”
With an extensive legislative and external affairs background, Julia brings nearly 15 years of government affairs expertise to Comcast. Most recently, she served as the vice president of government relations at Kennesaw State University, where she advocated on behalf of the university to cultivate and enrich partnerships throughout the state.
Julia also served as the senior executive director of economic development for the Technical College System of Georgia and worked closely with the vice presidents of economic development at 22 colleges to develop and implement curriculum and industry outreach initiatives.
Her experience includes working with Georgia Governor Nathan Deal as deputy chief of staff for legislative and external affairs and legislative correspondent for former U.S. Rep. Phil Gingrey.
Julia received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi. She is a Georgia Academy of Economic Development, Leadership Cobb and Leadership Georgia graduate and a member of the Georgia Lottery Board.
