Conexión Américas and Comcast Business Partner to Support Small Business Impacted by Pandemic

Peke Custom Designs Receives $5,000 grant from Comcast Business

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 6, 2021) – Today, during a Facebook Live event, Comcast Business and Conexión Américas announced a partnership to award a $5,000 grant to a small business in Greater Nashville impacted by the global pandemic. The grant is part of the Comcast Business initiative ‘Together Towards Tomorrow’, which focuses on supporting the small business community.

The business selected to receive the $5,000 grant is Peke Custom Designs – a graphic design and printing company located in Nashville.

Peke Custom Designs, owned by Maricela Gama-Hernandez, provides graphic design, screen printing, and embroidery services for small businesses in Nashville.  Peke Custom Designs specializes in creating t-shirts, uniforms, promotional items and advertising materials.

“The challenges that our company and our customers have been through over the past year have created significant burdens,” said Maricela Gama-Hernandez, owner of Peke Custom Designs. “We are grateful to Conexión Américas and Comcast Business for this lifeline and for continuing to do their part in supporting small businesses.”

Comcast Business has developed several programs to support the recovery of small businesses adversely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Together Towards Tomorrow campaign was created by local Comcast Business employees in the Southeast who wanted to do even more for their customers and business partners.

“This pandemic has created some very profound challenges for businesses across our country,” said Jason Gumbs, regional SVP at Comcast. “We are proud to support local businesses during this challenging time, and we appreciate our strong partnership with Conexión Américas to make this happen.”

As part of Together Towards Tomorrow, Comcast Business is working with local chambers and other community partners to identify businesses in need. Conexión Américas in Nashville helped Comcast identify area businesses who qualified for the program.
