Comcast Completes Multi-Million-Dollar Technology Upgrade in Caddo Parish, Louisiana

Investment supports delivery of high-speed internet and advanced

technology to residents and businesses in Caddo Parish,

including City of Shreveport

 

(Shreveport, La.) – March 4, 2021 – Comcast today announced the completion of its multi-million-dollar technology upgrade in Caddo Parish, including the City of Shreveport. The investment is designed to better support the delivery of gigabit-speed internet, along with a host of advanced technology, to residents and businesses in its service area.

The project consisted of the reconstruction of more than 300 miles of existing network and the replacement of over 2,400 pieces of field equipment.

“Comcast has been a great partner to Caddo Parish and Shreveport, and today’s announcement demonstrates its commitment to our businesses and residents,” said Dr. Woodrow Wilson, Jr., Caddo Parish Administrator. “We appreciate this technology investment and the immense value it will bring to our community.”

Comcast also upgraded all its power supplies across the marketplace, in addition to thousands of connections running directly to customers’ homes. The city is now completely digital.
