Comcast Awarded 2020 “Business Partner of the Year” by Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mid-South

Local Comcast employees, ambassadors celebrating their volunteer services.

This month, Comcast was awarded “Business Partner of the Year” by Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mid-South. The award recognizes one entity’s outstanding contributions to the Agency for its ongoing support of the organization.

Comcast was presented the award at a celebration with local Comcast employees, ambassadors and leaders, committed volunteers and supporters of the agency including the sponsor of the award, the Memphis Grizzlies Foundation.

“We are very fortunate to receive outstanding support year round from Comcast,” said Susan George, Executive Director, BBBS Mid-South. “It was an honor to nominate Comcast for the partnership of the year award,” said Susan George, Executive Director, BBBS Mid-South.

Through the Comcast Memphis and BBBS Mid-South partnership, youth and families are provided access to computer technology and training, school supplies and grants that provide year round support of the BBBS Mid-south mentoring program. Comcast also partners with Big Brothers Big Sisters each year to support the community through its annual day of service “Comcast Cares Day”.

“Thank you and congratulations ambassadors for your award-winning volunteer service,” said Jason Gumbs, Comcast Regional Senior Vice-President said to the Memphis employees who have supported the organization.  “The work that you do is truly appreciated and makes a big difference in the local community.”
