Comcast Now Accepting Volunteer Project Proposals for Annual Comcast Cares Day

Comcast Cares Day

Comcast announced today it is accepting proposals for any qualifying organization across the Southeast wishing to participate in this year’s Comcast Cares Day, the company-wide signature celebration of service. The deadline for submission is Friday, February 14.

Comcast is seeking proposals from community-based organizations, such as public nonprofits, school districts and others that provide community service within the Comcast service area. Now in its 19th year, Comcast Cares Day is one of the largest corporate commitments to volunteerism and service in America. Comcast NBCUniversal’s long-standing company tradition has engaged more than one million volunteers to help strengthen communities around the world where our customers and employees live and work.

“Comcast Cares Day is one of the best illustrations of what can be achieved when a business, it’s employees and partners come together to support the community,” said Jason Gumbs, Regional Senior Vice President, Comcast. “We are proud of the impact that has been made over the years and look forward to driving change again in 2020.”

Comcast Cares Day is slated for Saturday, May 2, but projects around the region will be held throughout April and May.

Comcast Cares Day is more than just a day – it’s the culmination of Comcast NBCUniversal’s commitment to volunteerism that began when the company was founded in 1963. From using technology to create positive change, such as wiring community centers and libraries and teaching digital literacy skills, to mentoring youth or beautifying parks, Comcast NBCUniversal employees volunteer on this day, and throughout the year, to make a lasting impact.
