On Friday, September 20, students at Heards Ferry Elementary School in Sandy Springs, Ga., participated in activities that celebrated and explored the world of science, technology, engineering and math, known commonly as STEM.  Students spent the day engaged in hands-on activities where they designed and tested a variety of science-based concepts as part of a competition.

Each year, Comcast’s Network Maintenance team in Roswell, Ga., partners with Heards Ferry to support the program. The highlight of these events is the Egg Drop competition, a contest among 5th grade students that involves safely dropping an egg from ever-increasing heights. To support the event for the third straight year, Comcast provided one of its bucket trucks and a team of employees to test egg drop crates designed and created by the students.

Comcast employees Danut Buturca-Florescu, Austin Barone and William Koger each volunteered their time to support the annual event.
