Comcast Regional SVP Doug Guthrie Interviewed on Atlanta’s Business RadioX
Comcast executive Doug Guthrie was interviewed on the “Frazier & Deeter’s Business Beat” radio podcast on Business RadioX in Atlanta this morning. During the 30-minute interview, Mr. Guthrie described the X1 entertainment platform’s evolution into a digital dashboard for Wi-Fi connectivity, home automation, and ‘Internet of Things’ devices.
“We’re really starting to integrate other technologies onto the X1 platform,” he remarked.
He also highlighted the successful rollout of Xfinity Mobile, and how Comcast now provides the fastest internet speeds to the most homes and businesses.
Speaking about Comcast Business, Mr. Guthrie described it as his organization’s ‘fastest growing space.”
Mr. Guthrie highlighted his company’s array of offerings to the enterprise segment, including 10- and 100-gigabit circuits, WAN solutions, managed solutions, Ethernet and voice products.
Mr. Guthrie pointed to Comcast’s highly publicized technology presence at SunTrust Park, and other mixed-use developments including Avalon, Halcyon and Pinewood Forrest, where the company provides Wi-Fi connectivity and multi-gigabit solutions.
In addition, Mr. Guthrie underscored the important investments that Comcast makes in Georgia. As one of the state’s largest employers, Comcast boasts a 20-year record of spending over $200 million annually in Georgia, with a workforce of over 5,500 employees.
He also addressed Comcast’s continued efforts to improve customer service, noting that “An excellent customer experience starts with engaged and empowered employees.”
“We are really trying to get to the point where customers can choose the platform they want to interact with Comcast,” referring to the many online options now available.
