Comcast Hosts Digital Literacy, Internet Safety Workshops with Henderson Middle School in Little Rock
125 Families Receive Laptops, Benefit from Comcast’s Internet Essentials Program
On Saturday, March 10, Comcast and Henderson Middle School hosted a series of workshops on Internet Safety for over 100 parents and students in Little Rock. The event, “Computer Power Day Plus,” provided a day of valuable learning and fun for families. As part of the program, approximately 125 families were given a refurbished desktop computer. Attendees were also provided with information and sign-up opportunities for Comcast’s Internet Essentials program.
Comcast’s Internet Essentials program is the nation’s largest and most comprehensive high-speed internet adoption program, and has connected more than four million low-income Americans, about one million households, to high-speed internet service at home. Comcast’s Internet Essentials program has helped connect thousands of Little Rock households.
“Thank you so much to Comcast for sponsoring this event,” said Michael Poore, Superintendent, Little Rock School District. “Programs like this are important to helping families get connected to the Internet.”
