Comcast Awards $17,000 to Memphis Non-Profits

 

MEMPHIS, Tenn.OCTOBER 13, 2016 – The Comcast Foundation announced today that it has awarded more than $17,000 in grants to 12 nonprofit organizations in Memphis.

The organizations receiving the grants participated in the 15th annual ‘Comcast Cares Day’ this past April. Comcast Cares Day, which takes place each April during National Volunteer Month, is Comcast and NBCUniversal’s signature day of service and the nation’s largest single-day corporate volunteer effort.

In Memphis, hundreds of volunteers assisted with various community projects including park and trail clean-ups, playground improvements, blood drives, and clean-up days at local non-profits.

“Thanks to all of our Comcast Cares Day volunteers and partner organizations, we were able to make a big difference in the community this past spring,” said Larry Williamson, Comcast Area Vice President. “Through these Comcast Cares Day grants, we are pleased to be able to continue the celebration of giving back for our nonprofit partners that help Memphis each and every day.”

The grants will help Comcast’s local community partners continue their mission of serving the community throughout the year.
