Comcast, Community Leaders to Launch Innovative Neighborhood Platform

WHAT: Comcast will host media, community and business leaders, and elected officials at a reception and launch event for the company’s new interactive neighborhood platform “EveryBlock.com” in Nashville, Tenn.

EveryBlock is a free, hyper-local online service and mobile application that showcases news and reviews about specific geographic areas – from a neighborhood street to an entire suburb or even zip code, depending on users’ preferences.

Currently available in Chicago, Philadelphia, Houston, Boston and Denver, Everyblock provides area residents with information on what is happening in their neighborhoods. EveryBlock visitors can view and share relevant, local information, ranging from news from government entities and messages from businesses and civic groups, to neighborhood events and local business reviews. Users can also discover often hard-to-find information such as business licenses, restaurant inspections, building permits and crime data.  In addition, EveryBlock users can post comments and respond to one another on the site, making it a useful communications tool for communities.
