Comcast to Deliver ‘The Future @ Gigabit Speed!’ to Georgia Institute of Technology ​​

State of technology update presented by Comcast in partnership with Women in Cable Telecommunications and The GVU Center at Georgia Tech

Atlanta, Ga., October 12, 2015: Comcast announced today that it is partnering with the Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) Southeast chapter and The GVU Center at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) to bring ‘Tech It Out: The Future @ Gigabit Speed!’ to technology thought leaders, students and members of the media.

The one-day event will be headlined by keynote speaker Sherita Ceasar, SVP of Engineering at Comcast in Philadelphia. Attendees will also hear from a panel of industry executives who will explore the latest technology trends, new forms of content creation, and the benefits of a connected universe.  The event is aimed at encouraging students and those interested in entering the telecommunications sector to learn more about the fast-paced industry.

The panel, titled ‘Work, Home, Play: How Technology Changes the Speed of Life,’ will be moderated by Annie Anton, Professor and Chair at the Georgia Tech School of Interactive Computing, and will feature:

  • Dara Leslie, VP of Marketing for Central Division, Comcast
  • Wes Williams, Director of Product Management, Scripps Networks
  • Prem Bhatia, Cofounder of Cooleaf
  • Diane Bloodworth, President and CEO of Competitive Sports Analysis

Tech It Out: The Future @ Gigabit Speed! takes place on Oct. 21, 11am – 6pm at the university’s Technology Square Research Building, located at 85 5th Street in Atlanta.
