NASHVILLE, Tenn. – On Saturday, Sept. 19, Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee hosted their annual “Day for Kids” event sponsored by Comcast. More than 350 Club kids from the seven Boys & Girls Clubs across Middle Tennessee attended the event at their newest facility, the Boys & Girls Club at Cleveland Park Community Center in the East Nashville area. This new Club site is made possible due to a partnership with Metro Parks Nashville and Metro Nashville Public Schools.

“Day for Kids” is a national initiative that celebrates the life-changing work that takes place at Boys & Girls Clubs. The Middle Tennessee “Day for Kids” event featured several outdoor activities, food and fun for area club kids, their families and community partners.

During a special kick-off ceremony, Comcast furthered its commitment to Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee by announcing a $15,000 donation that will be used to fund a computer lab at the new Boys & Girls Club at Cleveland Park Community Center.

Comcast also provided Club members and their parents with information about the Internet Essentials program, which provides low cost broadband service to families at home for $9.95 a month. Now entering its fifth year, Internet Essentials is the nation’s largest and most comprehensive high-speed Internet adoption program and has connected more than 6,200 Nashville area families.
