Change Happens At Heart Of Arkansas United Way Back-To-School Blitz: Over 50,000 School Supplies Collected!
Comcast of Arkansas Internet Essentials Ambassadors recently made change happen at the Heart of Arkansas United Way Back to School Blitz Supply Drive held on Wednesday, August 5 at Walmart-Bowman Road in Little Rock.
The IE Ambassadors delivered 200 IE themed spiral notebooks and presented a $500 donation for additional school supplies. With the help of Comcast Internet Essentials, the Heart of Arkansas United Way exceeded its goal of collecting 50,000 school supplies for disadvantaged Central Arkansas students.
The Comcast Internet Essentials presentation of notebooks was featured live on KTHV-Channel 11 5PM news. Comcast IE Ambassadors Scott Lee, James Collier, Mike Wilson, Natema Wolfe and Evangeline Parker-Guest delivered 10 bags filled with notebooks.A surprise check presentation by Evangeline Parker-Guest to the Heart of Arkansas United Way was featured on KTHV-Channel 11 News at 6PM with Craig O’Neill.
Over the past 10 years, the Heart of Arkansas United Way has worked to address the needs of children to help prevent early school failure for at risk youth. Approximately 20,000 Central Arkansas students from economically disadvantaged homes will receive school supplies from the Heart of Arkansas Back to School Blitz program.
