Comcast Joins North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey to Celebrate Grand Opening of Xfinity Customer Center

Charleston, June 15, 2015 – Comcast will join City of North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey and other local elected officials and community partners for the grand opening of its North Charleston Xfinity Customer Center.  The ribbon-cutting event is scheduled for Thursday, June 18 at 8:30 a.m., and will be held at 5037 International Blvd. in North Charleston.

Members of the media are encouraged to attend, and will also enjoy an interactive demonstration of Comcast’s X1, high-speed Internet, Xfinity Home, and Xfinity Wi-Fi services.

The 5,000-square foot space is the first of Xfinity’s newly designed locations in the area. The storefront provides an interactive way for customers to experience products and services, such as the X1 platform and the Xfinity Home suite of products. It also offers customers payment kiosks for automated bill payments, and an environment for conducting equipment transactions. The location features 10 service counters, an iPad ‘bar’ with interactive product demonstrations, and dedicated areas of the store that showcase Comcast’s suite of products and apps.

“We are excited to join Mayor Summey and our community partners for this special ribbon-cutting ceremony,” said Comcast Regional SVP Doug Guthrie. “With its sleek design and modern amenities, this facility is the only one of its kind across our entire southern footprint, and is aimed at improving the overall service experience.”

Comcast opened the storefront in Jan. 2015, and simultaneously closed its older service center at 4400 Belle Oaks Drive in Charleston.
