Comast Celebrates LGBT Pride Month With A Specially Curated Collection Of Films

Frameline, a World-Class LGBT Media Arts Non-Profit Organization, Curates Six Independent LGBT Titles to Air Across Xfinity On Demand and Xfinity Online at Xfinity.com/LGBT;

HERE TV Promotion Includes Week-Long Freeview of Award-Winning LGBT Programming

Philadelphia, PA – June 2, 2015  In celebration of LGBT Pride Month, Comcast today announced it will feature a specially curated collection of films from Frameline, the world-renowned media arts organization connecting filmmakers and audiences around the world. Frameline has selected an eclectic mix of LGBT independent film titles that will be made available to Xfinity TV subscribers on Xfinity On Demand and online to the general public at Xfinity.com/LGBT. Additionally, Xfinity TV subscribers will gain free access to award-winning LGBT content from premium LGBT cable network HERE TV.

Through this first-time partnership with Frameline, beginning the week of June 15, Xfinity will provide access to a unique mix of independent LGBT film titles, as curated by the Frameline staff of expert programmers. These titles illustrate the vast diversity within the LGBT community and will be available to enjoy on Xfinity on Demand and online at Xfinity.com/LGBT. The four features and mix of short films selected by Frameline include:

  • Changing Our Minds: The Story of Dr. Evelyn Hooker
  • Decoding Alan Turing
  • The Paper Mirror
  • Voices from the Front
  • LGBTQ Youth Perspectives/Collection of Shorts
  • LGBTQ Teen Perspectives/Collection of Shorts

Also, for the third year in a row, Xfinity TV has partnered with HERE TV to offer a week-long freeview of the network’s award-winning LGBT programming. From June 2 – 8, Xfinity TV customers can access original HERE TV series and specials including: Here With Pride, an original documentary examining the roots of the civil rights campaign; Undressing Israel: Gay Men in the Promised Land, about the overlooked, thriving gay community in Israel; the comedy series Don’t Quit Your Gay Job; the feature film 4 Moons; and much more. All these great titles will be available at no charge for Xfinity TV subscribers nationwide and accessible via the Xfinity On Demand menu.

In addition to the Frameline-curated collection and the HERE TV freeview, Xfinity TV subscribers will be able to view the Xfinity LGBT Pride Collection of films throughout the entire month. Available to customers through the Xfinity On Demand movies menu, titles available during Pride Month include: The Imitation Game, J Edgar, Transamerica, Midnight Cowboy and The Hours, among many others.
