Anticipation Builds For 14th Annual Comcast Cares Day

Atlanta, Ga. – April 15, 2015 – On Saturday, April 25, more than 10,000 local Comcast NBCUniversal employees and their families, friends and community partners will “make change happen” as they volunteer to improve communities across Comcast’s South region on the 14th annual Comcast Cares Day.

Comcast Cares Day, which takes place each April during National Volunteer Month, is Comcast NBCUniversal’s companywide celebration of its year-round commitment to service and the nation’s largest single-day corporate volunteer effort in the country. Employees, friends and local partners will participate in 118 events focused on restoration, beautification and digital literacy in dozens of communities on April 25, and on the days leading up to Comcast Cares Day. Comcast President and CEO Neil Smit will attend marquee events in Atlanta and Knoxville.

This year, the Company expects more than 95,000 Comcast and NBCUniversal volunteers to participate in more than 700 projects across the country and around the globe. To date, volunteers have contributed more than 3.7 million service hours to improve nearly 6,000 projects in the U.S. and around the world since Comcast Cares Day started in 2001.

“We’re so proud to work with our many partners to improve our communities on Comcast Cares Day,” said Doug Guthrie, Regional SVP for Comcast. “Our employees’ dedication is inspiring, and I am thankful to all of our participants who will undoubtedly make Comcast Cares Day a major success.”

The Comcast Foundation will also provide grants to local community partner organizations across the country on behalf of everyone who volunteers on Comcast Cares Day. The grants will help Comcast’s partners continue their mission of serving the community throughout the year. To date, the Comcast Foundation has awarded more than $16 million in grants to local non-profits who have partnered with Comcast.
