iVolunteer Program Benefits Atlanta Day Shelter For Women And Children

Each year, Comcast gives back to the community by providing access to innovative technology, financial support, mobilizing employees to provide volunteer support, and partnering with leading national and local non-profit organizations.

Many Comcasters, like Brandee Salter from Peachtree City, volunteer their time to support organizations that have special meaning to them. In appreciation, the Comcast Big South Organization and the Central Division support employees’ community efforts through the iVolunteer program.

“We are proud of Brandee’s dedication and passion for these organizations and recognize that what she does makes a big difference,” said Comcast Regional SVP Doug Guthrie.

Twice a year, employees are asked to submit a nomination explaining what inspires them to volunteer for their organization. Based on the submissions received, one Comcaster is selected to receive financial support for their non-profit organization in the amount of $1,000.

Brandee nominated the Atlanta Day Shelter for Women and Children for their efforts in striving to restore hope and self-esteem for their clients by providing the tools they need to overcome homelessness. They help 140 women and children per day.

Brandee was presented with a check for $1,000 for the day shelter during her team meeting in Peachtree City. As a special surprise, it was announced that the Big South’s Women’s Employee Resource Group matched the donation for a total amount of $2,000.
