Comcast Recognizes Leaders And Achievers Scholarship Recipients

Comcast Memphis recognizes 31 Mid-South area students for their leadership abilities and community service

 MEMPHIS, TN, July 8, 2014 – Comcast today recognized 31 high school seniors, who were recipients of the Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Awards, at a luncheon at the Pink Palace Mansion and Museum.

“We are proud to present these talented students with the Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship,” said Otha Brandon, director of government affairs of Comcast Memphis. “Youth leadership development is one of the Comcast Foundation’s community investment areas of focus because we believe we can make a significant and measurable impact, and these students are very deserving of this recognition.”

The Comcast Leaders and AchieversÒ Scholarship Program provides one-time $1,000 scholarships to students who strive to achieve their potential, who are catalysts for positive change in their communities, who are involved in their schools, and who serve as models for their fellow students. The program gives young people every opportunity to be prepared for the future, to engage youth in their communities, and to demonstrate the importance of civic involvement.

“Comcast seeks students who demonstrate leadership abilities in school activities and who reflect a strong commitment to community service,” stated Brandon. “This scholarship is in recognition of their hard work and commitment to their communities.”
