Clark Atlanta University Announces Launch of Xfinity on Campus for Students

School now offering service that caters to the viewing habits of millennial consumers

Atlanta (March 13, 2018) – Clark Atlanta University (CAU) today announced the launch of Xfinity On Campus, a service from Comcast that lets students watch live TV, Xfinity On Demand and recorded content on their IP-enabled devices, including laptops, tablets, smartphones and Roku players. The service, which is included with room and board for students living in on-campus housing, is now available.

Xfinity On Campus offers approximately 80 live cable television channels including every major broadcast network, as well as AMC, Bravo, BET, ESPN, FX and MTV through Comcast’s Xfinity Stream app and portal. The service also includes access to thousands of current season TV shows and hit movies via Xfinity On Demand. While off campus, students can use the Xfinity Stream app to log in and access TV Everywhere programming that’s part of their subscription.

CAU students can also upgrade their Xfinity On Campus accounts to include a selection of premium channels such as HBO and Showtime, as well as the Sports Entertainment Package.

“Students who reside on campus at Clark Atlanta University can now turn any mobile device into a television, enabling them to easily view their favorite live content on the go,” said Doug Guthrie, Comcast’s Regional Senior Vice President. “They can also enjoy Xfinity on Demand’s extensive library of movies and television shows anytime.”

CAU is the sixth institute of higher learning in Atlanta to launch Xfinity on Campus, joining Emory University, Clayton State University, Savannah College of Art and Design, and Morehouse and Spelman colleges.

Xfinity On Campus provides an opportunity to introduce a younger audience to Xfinity X1, Comcast’s next-generation video product currently enjoyed by residential customers throughout the nation. Xfinity X1 delivers an immersive and personalized entertainment experience across all devices in an interface that is intuitive and makes search and discovery of content simpler.

Xfinity On Campus is easy and cost-effective for a university’s IT department to maintain. To register for the service, students can visit http://comca.st/2tEyKPR, type in their school name and authenticate with their student user name and password. Once registered, students can watch their programming anytime by downloading the Xfinity Stream app or by visiting http://comca.st/2tKPZ22 and logging in with their student credentials.
