Students from 11 Sandy Springs public schools to participate in STEAM-related exhibits
Comcast announced today it will host an exhibit at the 13th annual SSEF STEAM Showcase.
The showcase includes exhibits and hands-on experiences related to science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM). More than 1,700 middle and high school students are expected to attend. The event takes place on March 15th from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at North Springs High School, located at 7447 Roswell Road in Sandy Springs.
At Comcast’s exhibit, students can engage with a replica house where Comcast technicians will demonstrate how to test cable, internet and phone signals. There will also be information available on Comcast’s Internet Essentials program and the federal government’s Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP).
Internet Essentials is the nation’s largest and most successful private-sector low-income broadband adoption program. Since launching in 2011, the program has connected more than 10 million people to the Internet at home.
ACP is a federal initiative that provides eligible customers up to a $30 per month credit toward their internet and Xfinity Mobile services for the duration of the program.
The Sandy Springs Education Force (SSEF) designs and implements free programs to encourage economically disadvantaged public school students to excel academically, finish high school and pursue a vocational program or college.
