ATLANTA, GA – (March 3, 2015) – Comcast has named Tony Reed Regional Vice President of Engineering, reporting directly to SVP Doug Guthrie. Reed will be based in Atlanta and oversee the maintenance and operation of Comcast’s advanced broadband network, which supports 2.9 million customer relationships across the Southern region.
Reed previously served as Regional Vice President of Engineering for Comcast’s Greater Chicago operation. He was responsible for maintaining network reliability and developing a strong platform to provide X1, high-speed Internet, Xfinity Home and advanced digital telephone services to customers. Reed has been in the industry since 1977 and has served in a variety of leadership positions at Comcast.
“Tony has extensive technology and leadership experience at Comcast, which makes him a perfect fit for our executive team,” said Guthrie. “In his new role, he will focus on further enhancing the most advanced broadband network in the nation, preparing us to deliver the fastest gigabit speeds to the most homes and businesses across our service area.”
